Picked up 2 bags, 0 large items.
I finally got around to it! And I had just about given up on having any time this month. The junk was pretty average -- candy wrappers, bags, pop cans, endless plastic bottles, a nasty rug, two buckets, and a traffic cone. It wasn't really that dirty though, only two bags worth, and it felt good to get it cleaned up. The weather was great -- warm but not hot, partly cloudy but without any threat of rain. I got all the major trails and even along 106th, which I don't always have time for. I only ever scratch the surface there -- I know there's mountains of trash hidden in the cattails, but got what I could get, what was visible from the sidewalk, at least. A couple of fighter jets flew impressively around Jeffco Airport for a while, and eventually landed, I think. There must be an air show coming up.
I saw some tracks in secluded patches of mud -- a couple were probably fox, others maybe raccoon. Dragonflies can be seen hovering around waters these days. I was getting eaten by mosquitoes when it started getting late, and I wondered where the bats had gone. A moment later, around 8:00, I saw one, and then another, and then more, flying slower and faster and dipping and turning in their highly acrobatic way. There were lots of them, flying all over the field after sunset, eating the mosquitoes that were eating me. The bats dancing around the air, silhouetted against the fading colors in the west, made a very cool show on the walk home.
